No Turning Back Now!

I think it is safe to say that we have officially jumped down the rabbit hole and there is no going back now. It is crazy how different the place looks only 24 hours after closing. Here is a shot of what it looked like on Monday:

Here is what it looked like at 4:30pm Tuesday:

After I finished poking around upstairs in awe, I headed downstairs to the apartment bathroom to get to work. Remember, the goal is to get this bathroom and bedroom cleaned up and ready for our move in next week. We need a sanctuary in all the mess! I was so excited and nervous about tiling, but it didn't take long to get in the grove.

We are taking it all the way up to the ceiling and grouting it with dark gray.
In the department of happy accidents, we returned (to our current, we don't own it anymore) home after a few hours of work only to find that the power was out. I will not miss our old peanut brittle electrical grid! Since there was nothing to do but sit in the dark, we loaded up Buckley into the car and headed back to the (yet to move into, but we own it) home and got a few more hours of work done. By the time we called it a night and headed back to the dark house, I had completed the back shower wall and non-plumbing side. Tonight I will tile the plumbing side and HM is going to cut the tiles to fill in corners and ends. There is also a chance that the floor tiles will arrive today!!!

So far, Michael's contributions have been limited to operating the power tools.
In other, less exciting updates, we had a new furnace installed and decided on a shade of white paint for the apartment bedroom walls. Exciting right?

Can you tell which one is "White Fur"? Me either.
